I’m going on holiday next week, and pleased to say I’ll be retired, travelling, and the business is still running.
Not a “Checking my laptop every morning at breakfast” holiday. Not a “Just a quick peek at emails before dinner” holiday. Proper holiday — Bath, a yoga retreat in Somerset, catching up with old friends over a long meal. The kind of break that actually feels like a break.
And here’s the thing I want to tell you: my little online business will keep ticking along without me.
That’s not me showing off. That’s me showing you what’s possible. Because if you’re retired and you’ve been toying with the idea of earning a bit extra online, I think this might be worth reading.
Retirement Isn’t Always What the Brochures Suggest
I spent decades imagining what retirement would look like. Freedom. Time. Adventures. Seeing the grandchildren. Long lunches. Trips I never quite managed to fit in.
And for many of us, it IS like that, in patches. But retirement also comes with its own financial pressures, doesn’t it? The pension that stretches to cover expenses most months but not all of them. The heating bill that seems to have developed a personality of its own. The holiday you’d love to take – all sitting just slightly out of reach.
What a lot of retired people quietly want, and feel a bit embarrassed to say, is a small, steady income on top of their pension. Not a fortune. Not a second career. Not a return to the nine-to-five. Just something that brings in a bit extra, reliably, without taking over the life they’ve worked hard to build.
That’s exactly what I’ve been quietly building. Alongside my other work, in the pockets of time that suit me.
What “Working From Anywhere” Actually Looks Like
This coming week looks like this for me:
A leisurely dinner with old friends the first night. A few days wandering Bath – honestly, if you haven’t been, put it on your list. Then a yoga retreat in Somerset where I fully intend to do absolutely nothing productive.
Meanwhile, the CBPC Challenge – a structured system put together by a seriously experienced online marketer – will be running for my members. My own emails are pre-scheduled. My blog posts are queued.
The product creator will be following up with my list while I’m relaxing in various places, doing my best impression of someone who has completely switched off.
I didn’t build any of this infrastructure myself from scratch. I used what was already built and waiting for me. Done-for-you emails, a proven challenge framework, a system that someone far more experienced has already created and tested and refined.
My job was to show up, follow the steps, and use what was provided.
Why This Matters If You’re Retired
I know how many of you feel about the online world. A lot of us have been burned before – offered shiny promises by people who disappeared the moment money changed hands. That wariness is entirely reasonable. I have it too – which is why I suggest checking the signs of a scam before you commit to anything online.
But this is different in one important way: the tools are transparent, the structure is clear, and the person behind the CBPC Challenge is someone with a genuine, verifiable track record. A 9x Platinum ClickBank vendor isn’t just a title: it means tens of thousands of real customers, real results, real accountability.
And the entry point won’t give you a heart attack. This isn’t a programme asking you to remortgage anything.
What it IS, is a framework that lets you participate on your own terms. A bit of time when you have it. A day off when you don’t. A holiday when you need one — while the system keeps running.
The Part Most People Never Get Past
Here’s what I’ve noticed, talking to people at our stage of life about this kind of thing.
Everyone finds it interesting. Most people say “Ooh, I’ll have a look at that.” And then… nothing. The browser tab closes. The week gets busy. The moment passes.
Not because they’re not capable. Not because the opportunity isn’t real. But because starting something new feels like a bigger leap than it actually is, especially when you’ve already got a full life and you’re not quite sure where this fits in.
Here’s where it fits: in the gaps. In the quiet Tuesday morning when the grandchildren aren’t visiting. In the hour after lunch when you’d otherwise be scrolling through the news. In a system that carries on while you’re in Bath, or Somerset, or wherever you fancy going next.
The framework exists. The hard work has been done by people who’ve already proven it works. What’s left is simply the decision to start.
So before I go and try to cram several too many books into my suitcase (that’s usually my main packing challenge) let me ask you something.
What would a small, steady extra income change for you? And what’s actually stopping you from taking a closer look?
I’d love to know. Drop a comment below, and I’ll reply on my return. I read every one.
Enjoy your week — I certainly intend to. 🧳

Wow Joy. Somerset is lovely. We adored our month in Bath.
As for your post, it is not bragging at all but a different way of thinking and living. Work intelligently to build assets. Be of service consistently to be free from time and location. You know by now this makes perfect sense to me.
People put stuff off then never come back to it. The time is now, folks. Joy offers you the blueprint. Do your homework then if this life sounds enticing, dive in, build an online business patiently and slowly everything begins to come together as the asset matures.
Still in Bath, and just checking comments.
I move on tomorrow, but I’ll surely be back.
Yes, I put things off for too long. My time is NOW.
