Post Planner: The Social Media Content Scheduler That’s Built for Engagement

Tired of the social media grind? Spending hours crafting posts, only to see them disappear into the algorithm abyss? I know I was!

It wasn’t how I planned spending my retirement. I wanted a business that I could run in just a few hours a week.

I got that figured out with email marketing – where I can schedule a week’s posts at once. Also my advertising, I can schedule ahead by a month at a time.

But social media was driving me nuts. If I took a day away from posting (and being hassled by messenger pests) I seemed as if I had to start the whole thing again.

Finally I’d had enough and I started looking for ways to solve the problem.

What if you could reclaim your time, consistently publish high-quality content, and actually *grow* your audience?

Post Planner promises to be that “cheat code” for social media, and after my test drive, I’m here to tell you whether it lives up to the hype. Let’s have a look.

Yes, I am a real person, who actually used the software!

Company Background: A Decade of Social Media Expertise

Post Planner isn’t some fly-by-night startup. They’ve been in the social media management game since 2011, which in Internet years, is practically ancient! This longevity speaks volumes.

It demonstrates a commitment to the ever-evolving landscape of social media and a track record of adapting to new trends and technologies. Their core mission is clear: to empower businesses and individuals to create and schedule engaging content effortlessly.

They’ve helped over 358,000 businesses reach more followers, which is a testament to their effectiveness. Knowing they’ve been around the block and have a substantial user base definitely builds confidence in their platform.

Product Overview: Streamlining Your Social Media Workflow

Post Planner is a comprehensive social media content scheduler designed to simplify and optimize your posting process. It’s more than just a tool for scheduling posts; it’s a platform that helps you discover trending content, create visually appealing graphics, and analyze your post performance. Think of it as your all-in-one social media command center.

The platform supports a wide range of social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube. This centralized approach allows you to manage all your accounts from a single dashboard, eliminating the need to juggle multiple tools and logins.

It is designed to help you manage all your social accounts in one place, find high-quality content ideas, design images, classify posts into topic-based buckets to streamline content, compose and optimize posts, and automate your posting schedule to save time.

Key Features and Benefits: Discovering the Power of Post Planner

Post Planner is packed with features designed to boost your social media presence. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Content Discovery: One of Post Planner’s standout features is its ability to help you find trending and engaging content within your niche. This feature eliminates the dreaded “blank page” syndrome and provides you with a constant stream of fresh ideas. This is a game changer because you don’t have to spend hours searching for content.
  • Content Library: This is where you can build topic-based buckets, create and manage your content, and then schedule it to post. The ability to plan out content and schedule it is amazing and saves a ton of time.
  • Image Editor: Post Planner includes a built-in image editor that allows you to create visually appealing graphics directly within the platform. This eliminates the need for separate design tools and streamlines your content creation process. Yes, I’ve seen better – but if it’s not enough for you, use the free version of Canva and upload.
  • Scheduling & Automation: The core of Post Planner is its robust scheduling capabilities. You can schedule posts, reels, stories, carousels, videos, and shorts across all your supported social media platforms. The automation features allow you to set up recurring schedules, saving you even more time.

Pros and Cons Analysis: A Balanced Perspective

Like any tool, Post Planner has its strengths and weaknesses. Here’s a balanced look at the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Time-Saving Automation: Post Planner significantly reduces the time spent on social media management through its scheduling and automation features.
  • Content Curation: The content discovery feature is invaluable for finding engaging content and staying ahead of trends. Add these to ‘Buckets’ and schedule to your planning dashboard.
  • Evergreen Content: You can recycle content in a bucket so that you don’t have to keep creating. Obviously keep a decent interval between the posts, and it makes sense to use the PostPlanner dashboard to refine posts as you go along and vary the text, while keeping the main point the to the forefront.
  • All-in-One Platform: Managing multiple social media accounts from a single dashboard simplifies the workflow by generating different platform formats from the original post.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The platform is intuitive and easy to navigate, even for beginners.
  • Affordable Pricing: Post Planner offers a range of pricing plans to suit different budgets and needs.
  • Mobile App: Managing social media on the go is a huge plus.
  • Great Customer Support: Quick, friendly and helpful customer service. Josh even pops up when I know he’s off duty. He’s cheerful and forgiving even when the mistakes are mine.

Cons:

  • Learning Curve: While the platform is user-friendly, it may take a while to fully master all the features and functionalities, but there are plenty of training videos and support in the bottom right corner to ask for help. It took me about a week of part-time use to become more familiar, and you can refine your skills as you go along.
  • Uploading Past Blog Posts: The file format wasn’t very user-friendly, and in the end Josh did the first one for me. After that I was able to follow what he did and upload my old posts from my blog, again re-using content I had prepared months ago.
  • PNG vs JPG Formats: At first I had problems when I was up-loading images, because some platforms allowed PNG format and others wanted JPG. Error messages stop you posting the wrong format. Support tell me that automatic conversion may be a planned enhancement.
  • Limited Integrations: While it covers major platforms, some niche social media networks may not be supported, so check first with a free trial – but I think they’d have to be more niche than most users would find a problem. See below.

User Experience/Results: Real-World Impact

During my testing, Post Planner proved to be a massive time-saver for streamlining my social media efforts. The content discovery feature helped me uncover fresh ideas that resonated with my audience, leading to increased engagement. The scheduling and automation features saved me countless hours, allowing me to focus on other aspects of my business, and enjoy life outside my business. I also found the analytics and reporting to be insightful, providing valuable data for optimizing my social media strategy.

Value Assessment: Is Post Planner Worth the Price?

In my opinion, Post Planner offers excellent value for the cost. The time-saving features alone make it a worthwhile investment for businesses and individuals looking to improve their social media presence. The content discovery, image editor, and analytics tools further enhance its value proposition, making it a comprehensive solution for social media management.

I have now gone ahead with an annual upgrade, so I will be using it for the foreseeable future.

There comes a time in your business life when you realize that spending a few dollars a month to save several hours, just makes sense.

Conclusion: A Must-Have Tool for Social Media Success

If you’re serious about growing your social media presence and reclaiming your time, Post Planner is a tool worth considering. Its comprehensive features, user-friendly interface, and affordable pricing make it a standout in the crowded social media scheduler market. I highly recommend giving it a try.
