Earn Commissions on Health Products with Amazon? Or NOT!

Posted by

While starting up health blog to earn commissions on from health products with Amazon, it turned out to be nowhere as easy as the training course I took suggested. (Where have I heard that before?)

In particular one of their recommended ways to earn affiliate commissions was Amazon, and at first sight I was fully on board with this.

Amazon is a trusted brand for customers, with a huge selection of products, but I found it hard to cater for global product selection – and because I took a while to get started, Amazon ‘dumped me’ as an affiliate because I wasn’t making enough sales. Ouch.

But was that as much of a setback as I had imagined?

Disadvantage of Being an Amazon Affiliate

  1. Low Commission Rates
Amazon offers relatively low commission rates, ranging from 1% to 10%, depending on the product category. Some categories, like electronics, are on the lower end.
  2. Short Cookie Duration
Amazon’s affiliate tracking cookie lasts only 24 hours. If someone clicks your link but doesn’t purchase within that time frame, you won’t earn a commission.
  3. Strict Policies
Amazon has strict terms and conditions. Violating any of their rules—such as incorrectly disclosing affiliate links or promoting certain products in restricted ways—can result in your account being banned.
  4. Highly Competitive
Many affiliates promote Amazon products, so you’ll need to find a unique angle or niche to stand out from the crowd and generate sales.
  5. No Control Over Pricing or Product Availability
You can’t influence product pricing, availability, or the customer’s purchasing experience. Amazon can also change commissions or remove products from their platform at any time, which may impact your earnings.

Better Alternative to Promote Health Products than Amazon

Instead, I decided to replace all the Amazon links on my blog with LiveGood products. (LiveGood is just one of the six income streams in the Easy Commission Funnel.)

Here are the advantages:

  • LiveGood customers have access to great product information, with quality webinars to explain the benefits of the products
  • If you sign up as a club member, you get product discounts, which could save you the cost of your membership
  • There is no monthly auto-ship requirement – just buy products when you need them
  • Optional business attached, and you could earn commission without introducing any other members
  • Unlike other companies where the price is hiked up to pay commissions to top earners, LiveGood products are affordable, and you can (optionally) recommend them to others without being embarrassed by the price
  • When customers are happy with an affordable product they will buy again, instead of picking up a cheaper product at the mall

Yes, it is a network marketing company but with a whole new model of business. Watch this video to see why it is so different (and to see how fast the business is exploding for distributors round the world).

It’s the members focusing on the products who are having the most success with LiveGood.

Here’s an example of one of their most recent products, and how I can share it on my blog: Click here to learn about Himalayan Shilajit, and see the price comparison between being a retail customer or a club member.

Below is the company video explaining the benefits of Himalayan Shilajit.

Now obviously you don’t need to have a blog to promote LiveGood – but as blogging is another way to earn an income online, I just wanted to share how it can be done – and I’ll start changing those links from Amazon as soon as possible.
